All India Entrance Examination for Agriculture Courses (AIEEA 2008)
Application invited for the entrance examination conducted by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), New Delhi to select candidates to admit to U.G. Degree programs (B.Sc./B.Tech./B.F.Sc. etc.) in the subjects of Agriculture, Horticulture, Agricultural Engineering, Dairy Technology, Biotechnology, Forestry, Food Science, Fisheries Sciences, Home Science, Sericulture, Agricultural Marketing Banking & Co-operation, and Commercial Agriculture & Business Management. Eligibility: +2 sciences with PCB/M.
Important Dates of AIEEA 2008:
Dates for purchase of Information Bulletin with Application Forms: 21.01.2008 to 07.03.2008
Last date of receipt of filled Application Forms in ICAR (Non-remote areas): 10.03.2008.
Last date of receipt of filled Application Forms in ICAR from remote areas: 17.03.2008.
Date and Time of the Examination: 19.04.2008 (Saturday) 10.00 – 12.30 hours at 39 Centres).
Eligibility: The candidate must have passed and obtained not less than 50% marks (for admission under General, UPS and OBC categories), or 40% marks (for admissions under SC, ST and PH. Categories) in 10+2 examination. Any candidate having compartment/ supplementary in any subject in 10+2 examination is not eligible for admission. Candidates appearing for 10+2 examination can also apply but produce 10+2 pass certificate during Counseling. Pass in English in 10+2 examination is essential for admission in some of the Universities. Minimum % marks in 10+2 Exam. Required : 50% for Gen., OBC and UPS, 40% for SC, ST, PH in PCM/ PCA/ PCB/ PCH/ PCMB subject combinations (pass in English compulsory for some Universities).

Sources of purchase of Information Bulletins with Application Forms:
On cash : Offices of the Registrars of 38 Universities and branches of the Syndicate Bank.
By Post: Candidates from remote places can obtain the Information Bulletin with Application Form by sending written request to the Controller of Exams, Education Division, ICAR, KAB-II, Pusa, New Delhi-110012 along with Bank Draft of Rs. 450/- (Rs. 400/- + Rs. 50/- towards postal and handling charges) for General, OBC and UPS Categories and Rs. 250/- (200/- + 50/- towards postal and handling charges) for S.C., S.T. and P.H. Categories. The demand draft must be drawn in favour of DDG (Education), ICAR payable at New Delhi with a self addressed envelope (30x25 cm) without postage stamps. The candidate should write his/ her name and address on the back of the demand draft. No request for supply of Information Bulletin by post will be accepted after 04 March, 2008.
National Talent Scholarship (NTS): Rs. 1,000/- per month for U.G. would be awarded to all selected in this examination who join any University in ICAR-SAU system, located outside their state of domicile.
Question Paper: There will be only one question paper consisting of objective type questions in Physics, Chemistry and Biology (or Agriculture) for “STREAM–A” and Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics for “STREAM – B”. The candidates may choose any Stream according to their eligibility and choice of the subjects. The question paper will be in ENGLISH and HINDI.
Reservation: As per norms, 15% seats in all subjects will be reserved for candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), 7.5% for Scheduled Tribes (ST), 3% for Physically Handicapped (PH), and 2% for candidates from Underprivileged States (UPS). Reservation for OBC if applicable in four Central Universities (NDRI, CAU, BHU and Viswa Bharti) will be as per Government of India directives/ University rules. The last date for the receipt of filled Application Forms is 10 March, 2008, in the Office of, The Controller of Exams,Education Division, ICAR,KAB-II, Pusa, New Delhi–110012
However for the candidates from remote areas viz. Mizoram, Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Nagaland, Tripura, Sikkim, Ladakh Division of J&K State, Lahaul and Spilit District and Pangi Sub-Division of Chamba District of Himachal Pradesh, A&N Islands and Lakshadweep, the last date for receipt of filled Application Form is 17 March, 2008. Applications received after the last date will be rejected. ICAR shall not be held responsible for non-receipt of application within the time schedule due to postal delay or any other reason for delay. The Application Forms cannot be submitted on-line. It is the sole responsibility of the candidate to check his/ her eligibility for admission before applying. ICAR will not be held responsible for refusing admission to any non-eligible candidate at the time of Counseling. All disputes relating to the conduct of this examination or any matter connected with this advertisement shall be dealt in the jurisdiction of DELHI COURT only.
