CEED 2007

Application invited for the next CEED, expected to be held on January or February 2007. last date to submit the application form is October 31, 2006. CEED (Common Entrance Examination for Design) is an all India examination conducted by the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay), on behalf of the Ministry of Human Resources Development, Department of Education, Government of India. The examination tests the candidates for visual perception ability, drawing skills, design aptitude and communication skills. CEED is a qualifying examination for admission to Post Graduate M.Des. programmes at the Industrial Design Centre (IIT Bombay), Inter disciplinary Industrial Design Programme (IIT Delhi), Centre for Product Design and Manufacturing (IISc Bangalore) and Design Programme (IIT Kanpur). However for IIT Kanpur and IISc Bangalore GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) qualified candidates will also be considered. CEED / GATE qualification in itself does not guarantee admission to the above mentioned programmes. Candidates also have to fulfill other requirements such as tests & interviews of the respective institutions for admission. Candidates are required to find out the procedure of final selection and award of Scholarship/Assistantship from the Institutions in which they seek admission. Application forms will be issued only by the GATE Office, IIT Bombay, on payment of Rs. 990/- (Rs. 495/- only for SC/ST Candidates) by crossed Demand Draft in favor of IIT Bombay and payable at Mumbai. Forms can be collected personally at GATE Office counter or by sending a request letter along with DD, by post. Two address slips should be enclosed along with the request for sending Application cum Brochure by post.
